Beauty and the Beast
Beauty and the beast is a very popular fairytale. Every little girl knows the story and probably saw the movie.
I always wanted to be Belle. She is pretty, smart, loves reading and sees people for who they are and not for how they looked. This is why she has been one of my favorite Disney princesses. Disney came with a great idea to make a live-action movie from the famous story.
A long time ago, the prince held a party. When a poor old lady asked to stay for the night, because of the weather, the prince said no and laughed. The old lady turned out to be an enchantress and cursed the prince. He was now an ugly beast.
The curse is curable if the prince learns to love someone else and if someone loves him for who he is. The staff from the hotel all turned into furniture and try to beat the curse.
Belle is a well-read girl in a small town in France. After her father gets captured by a horrible beast, she offers herself up for his freedom. She is to spend the rest of her life in the castle of the beast.
Belle discovers that the furniture talks and sings and they help her make the imprisonment as good as possible. She gets to know the beast and finds out there is a curse.
After the beast falls in love with her, he lets her go to save her father from Gaston, a guy who wants Belle to marry him. After Gaston wants to kill the beast, Belle goes after them to save him.
The big question is: Will Belle be able to save the beast and the furniture?
Favorite song: Be our guest, just because it is singing furniture!
Favorite character: I love
Belle: You take me as your prisoner, and now you want to have dinner with me? Are you insane?
Gaston: How can you read this? There are no pictures!
Belle: Well, some people use their imagination.
I really like the movie, but the original is still the best. The songs are awesome, but they already were. The casting was very good and the location is beautiful.
I do have one scene I can not stand. Belle throws her jacket on the floor and rides away. The next scene, she is wearing the jacket. This is something I really hate by movies, but it is also fun to spot them.
Because of the story and the music, I still give the movie a 7.5.
