Instagram worthy Steak Tacos

I had a day off and let my roommate choose what I was going to cook. She decided she wanted steak tacos. It was something I had never made before, but I have to say, I am going to make them more often!

They are so easy and delicious that we both thought we did not have enough. We had a 500-gram steak for the both of us and divided it in 2 steak tacos each. But we could have easily finished another one. It was that good!

You can make it as difficult or easy as you want by buying or making more or less. I do recommend making your own salsa and guacamole as it just tastes so much better and you don’t have all those preservatives in your food.

I can almost guarantee you that you can make the meal perfect with a Crème Brûlée as dessert!

Course: Main Course
Cuisine: Mexican
Keyword: taco
Servings: 2

  • 500 grams Entrecote or flank steak This should be enough, but we thought more would be even better!
  • 4 Soft tacos or burritos What you like, we used the small ones

  • 3 limes
  • Cumin
  • Salt & Pepper

  • 3 Avocados
  • 2 gloves of Garlic chopped
  • 1 lime juiced
  • Salt & Pepper

  • 200 grams cherry tomatoes normal tomatoes are also fine
  • 1 small red onion chopped
  • 2 gloves of Garlic chopped
  • 0.5 lime juiced

  • Make the marinade. Squeeze all the lime juice in a bowl where the steak can lay flat. Add the cumin, salt, and pepper to taste. I like to use quite a lot.
  • Trim the fat of the steak and put it in the marinade for 30-60 minutes
  • Make the guacamole. Cut the avocados in half, take the pit out and put everything in a bowl.
Add the garlic and half of the lime juice and use a hand mixer to make it nice and smooth.
Add the rest of the lime juice, salt, and pepper to taste
  • Make the salsa. Cut the tomatoes in small pieces, add the garlic and onion.
Season to taste with the lime juice, salt, and pepper.
  • Heat up a flat pan and melt some butter.
When the pan is nice and hot, put the steak in.
Grill it how you want it. You can do it on feeling or use a meat thermometer
  • Let the meat rest for a few minutes and warm up your tacos in the oven for 2-3 minutes.
  • Cut the meat in thin slices and make your taco.
On the picture, it is just steak, salsa, and guacamole, but feel free to add sour cream or something else you like.

And there you have it!
Instagram worthy tacos.

If you want to make it easier you can buy the guacamole and salsa, but I think that homemade just taste a lot better and you don’t have all the preservatives.

As you can see it is very easy and don’t be afraid to make a bit more for your meal the next day.

You can also play with the marinade, add some other herbs as well or add some fresh cilantro when everything is ready.

I would love to know what you thought of it and how Instagram worthy you could make it!
